The Two Roberts Book
Damian and I will be celebrating the publication, by Canongate Books, of the paperback version of his tremendous novel, The Two Roberts. It is a deeply researched and beautifully written fictional account of the lives of the Scottish artists Robert Colquhoun (1914-62) and Robert MacBryde (1913-66).
The Two Roberts Exhibition
Damian has also curated a touring exhibition of the Two Roberts’ work, called Robert MacBryde and Robert Colquhoun: Artists, Lovers, Outsiders. It is on show at Nottingham Castle until 8 September 2026 and will thereafter tour to The Dick Institute in Colquhoun’s home town of Kilmarnock.
