It’s great to see that my ‘Inside and Outside’ feature for the McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery & Museum is now live on their website.
It was wonderful to have the chance to reflect on the last few months spent under lockdown, via works in the McManus collection of modern Scottish paintings.
I looked at the experience of being based at home, working from home, appreciation of the outdoors and looking forward to the summer. Paintings by J. D. Fergusson (1874-1961), David McClure (1926-98) – as seen above – James McIntosh Patrick (1907-98) and Alberto Morrocco (1917-98) are discussed.
You can find the article at this link. As lockdown restrictions begin to ease, it might make you feel nostalgic for everything we have been through since March.
