It was lovely to be asked to choose my favourite painting for a feature in Country Life magazine.
Like parents, curators shouldn’t have favourites but….I decided on The Horsefair of 1928 by Scottish artist Agnes Miller Parker (1895-1980), which is on long-loan to the National Galleries of Scotland.

As ever, Country Life is a great read. I’ve enjoyed it since childhood, when my father had a subscription.
